Zimbabwean school children recite the National Pledge every morning at school after they have sung the National Anthem.
The pledge was officially launched in April 2016.
It aims to instil patriotism and commitment to the national interest, and helps familiarise children with the new Constitution and the cherishing of the value of hard work as embedded in the updated Curriculum Framework 2015 – 2022.
The wording of the school pledge is extracted from the preamble of Zimbabwe’s national Constitution which was adopted in 2013.

and national liberation struggles.
We are proud inheritors of our national resources.
We are proud creators and participants in our vibrant traditions and cultures.
We commit to honesty and the dignity of hard work
